Gideon the Amphibian’s Froggy Choir
By Steve Cleverley and Sanj Sen
Tonight we’re travelling to Lilypad Lake to meet Gideon and his Sleepy Froggy Choir. So snuggle down, close your eyes and make yourself comfy.
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
If you’re in the Moshi world, next to Lilypad Lake
You’ll start to feel quite sleepy, it’s hard to stay awake
For this is where you’ll find a tuneful Moshling known as Gideon
Who’s kind of like a Moshi frog, a talented amphibian
Listen… you can hear him now, ribbiting away
It’s a peaceful sound he loves to make when twilight falls each day
It’s a little like a lullaby… a mesmerizing croak
That seems to have a strange effect on all you passing folk
But Gideon’s not alone tonight, he’s with some croaky friends
For his Froggy Choir gather here, on evenings and weekends
They hop onto a lilypad, in the middle of the lake
And help their lakeside audience drift off to sounds they make
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
Gideon’s the leader of the Moshling Froggy Choir
A most important role to fill, it doesn’t get much higher
He organises everything and acts as the conductor
He even teaches ribbiting, a hokey croak instructor
Right now he’s making sure that every song’s the perfect speed…
By tapping on his music stand with a baton made of reed
He waves the baton to and fro to help the choir keep time
And sometimes swaps things round, to make sure all the ribbits rhyme
Next he makes his ensemble sip cups of swampy tea
To guarantee their voices are as sleepy as can be
Gideon’s rehearsals are extensive, that’s for sure
For tonight his Twilight Froggy Choir is going out on tour
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
Normally the Froggy Choir perform in one location
So touring the entire lake feels more like a vacation
Gideon hopes their lilypad will work just like a boat
And allow his choir to drift around, while keeping them afloat
They set sail on their lilypad, just as the moon starts glowing
While dragonflies in nightcaps float upon the breeze that’s blowing
The entire choir falls silent… then one frog starts to sing
Then another and another, it’s a truly wondrous thing
The froggy singers in the choir are every shape and size
From tadpoles through to bullfrogs, yet they somehow harmonize
As they drift around the lake, Moshlings gather round…
And snuggle by the shoreline, to hear this soothing sound
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
It’s getting pretty late now but the choir’s still going strong
They’ve sailed around the lake five times and been ribbiting all night long
The entire shoreline’s filled with Moshlings gazing at the sky
Listening to the Froggy Choir each time they float on by
As owls begin to hoot along on nearby weeping willows
An enterprising otter’s selling squishy blossom pillows
It seems this mini tour has been a hit with all the locals
But the time has come for Gideon to impress them with his vocals
He quietly croaks to clear his throat, then starts to sing alone
A tranquil magnum opus with a sleepy froggy tone
This masterpiece sends soothing vibes to all those listening in
It’s sweeter than a tune played on a velvet violin
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
With Gideon’s solo over, the choir sing once more
Their lilypad still drifting round the peaceful starlit shore
It seems that many Moshling fans have travelled from afar…
To hear the Froggy Choir, and Gideon, its star
Silly Snufflers doze in reeds, while Glowfish sleep in shallows
And Owls of Nod stuff cushions that look softer than marshmallows
This really is the biggest gig the choir has ever played
But it’s time for them to sleep now, so their singing starts to fade
The ribbiting continues but it’s softer than before
(If the audience weren’t sleeping they’d demand a frog encore)
The lilypad has settled in the middle of the lake
Cos Gideon and his singing pals deserve to take a break
The songs of the frog choir, floating on the breeze
The songs of the frog choir, perfect for evenings like these
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right,
Croaking in harmony every night
Ribbiting to the left, ribbiting to the right
The members of the choir agree to meet tomorrow night
Then hop off to their lakeside homes, which makes for quite a sight
Countless Froggy Moshlings hopping off in all directions
While the shimmering surface of the lake plays tricks with their reflections
All alone now, Gideon thinks about this evening’s show
Then hops off to his bed of reeds beneath the moon’s faint glow
He ribbits quietly to himself as fireflies flitter round
Then shuts his eyes and listens to the peaceful night time sounds
A little gentle snoring mingles with the trill of crickets
As hooting owls and lapping waves merge with occasional ribbits
Gideon finally falls asleep, amongst this peaceful scene
And slips into the most fantastic Froggy Choir dream
Goodnight
